The partnership working at NBHS allows for pupils to have 1-1 sessions with youth workers when required. The Guidance team refer young people who need extra support.
Cool, Calm and Connected
Youth workers will deliver Cool, Calm and Connected both at the Youth Project and at NBHS. This course for Young people aims to bring them together on a personal journey to explore what influences mental health and emotional well-being, and supports them in making relevant links to their own lives. It is hoped they will ultimately use the information to make positive choices about how they manage their own mental health and emotional well-being, as well as how they influence that of others.

Activity Agreements
We deliver Activity Agreements locally in partenership with East Lothian Works. Activity Agreements is a flexible, bespoke service for disengaged 16 - 19 year olds who are not yet ready to sustain full time training or employment.
The part time training is tailor-made to fit around the young person’s interests and address barriers to learning and progression. Training is in the form of bite sized taster sessions as diverse as music; bushcraft; motorcycles; climbing; aromatherapy and much more. Anyone can refer to this service; schools; families; social work SDS etc.
It is expected that young people should make steady progress with a combination of training and 1-1 support so that they are able to sustain their next steps, which could be employment; college; apprenticeship or a national training programme.
Young people are eligible to apply for EMA, which is £30 per week if they fit the criteria.
